Dear Google;
I recently heard that you had denied the Justice Departments request to access the records of what your users have searched for, as well as sites listed in your database. As someone who uses not only the search engine regularly but also uses other services such as Gmail I was re-assured and happy to hear that you didn’t sell out like other search engines. I can only hope that you not only did this to protect trade secrets but to protect the privacy of thousands of Google users. It speaks highly of your organization to do what you did, especially in this day in age when the fear of terrorism and hype about homeland security is used in at times abusive ways.
