Mommie Blogs
There seems to be a growing tend on Blogexplosion. What some are referring to as the “housewife mafia”. According to some, OK, many (Rockjay Accidental Goat Sodomy and A La Gauche) there’s a group of people who write nothing but dribble about kids and, well, mommie stuff. Now, that’s all fine and good, and I wouldnt have a problem here but it appears they’ve taken over this feature called Battle of the Blogs. Lemme tell you about Battle of the Blogs, two blogs face each other and then 15 other members go and vote on em. Usually the one with the best/most appealing layout wins, but some people have the nerve to see past the superficial site layout and actually get there friends to vote for there blogs. Que the housewife mafia. Apparently these ladies all vote for each other, every time, no matter what. Now, to be honest with you, I’ve done a few battles over there, and lost everyone but one, so when I see someone who has a record of 534-271 I get a little miffed, how the hell do you manage that?! Now, I don’t mind if its a winning record, but I think that other sites need to have at least a fighting chance, are you really reading what the other site is posting? Do you really think that reading about someones kids day after day can really be that interesting!?

It’s just that in a fix fight it’s not the size of the fight in the dog, but it’s the size of the dog in the fight, and that’s not fair!
And we all know, winning isn’t just about beating somebody. It’s about beating everybody.

I have them same damn problem, Those housewife moms and the pretty little blogs winning all the contests because there blog is cute. Their content sucks and has no relevance but they win with the pretty pink layout. I almost always get my ass kicked on that thing too, but I do it because 10 credits will sometimes get you alot more visitors in a battle than just the regular surf. Come visit my blog hommie!

I wrote to BE the first (and only) time I competed in a battle (this was early on in the game, before they made the adjustments for time limits) because I was miffed about the fact that I had lost by eight votes in thirty seconds. Who reads that fast?
When the response came back that if I didn’t like it, I didn’t have to compete, I decided, fine - I won’t. And thanks so much for caring.

Well I got lumped into the Housewife Mafia even though I had and have only been at BE 2 weeks and didn’t know a single person. Now I am getting voted against JUST because I have a pink blog and am a Mummy.
BTW I didn’t hunt this down I was surfing on BE and saw it.

It might be nice if BE came up with a new sort of “battle” for those who write and vote for content over color,etc. Hm………

thanks for the plug. i think the fight between mommie blogs and the anti housewife mafia has died down a bit. i’ve basically stopped battling. can’t win. screw it.
