Day at the park II
For the second Sunday in a row I was at a baseball game. This time it was at a Mahoning Valley Scrappers game. My whole family made the hour and a half drive to Niles, OH (minus my brother who’s moved out and is working in California) where we watched the Scrappers take on the Doubleday’s. Unfortunately they lost 9-8.
With this game I think I’ve seen every level of the Cleveland Indians farm club, and all but two teams. I’ve seen the Buffalo Bisons in Rhode Island, or maybe it was in Mass, whatever, a border town(Man, nothing beats being the only Indians fans in the place!) , the Akron Areos in Norwich, CT (can you say yelling?) where I got now major leaguer John MacDonald’s autograph, the Eastlake Captains and today the Scrappers. That goes from Triple A, Double A, Single A then Single A short season. Hehe, even though they lost it wasn’t that bad of a game, fun to go see another small stadium, which was a bit difficult to find being situated behind a mall… While the scrappers lost my guys up in Toronto won, keeping them only one game out of the wildcard. Not to shabby guys. Hopefully the Indians will see some October action yet!

I wish we had a decent hockey team in Vancouver. But what can you say? This is hockey country.

You drove an hour and a half for a Scrappers game? dedication there, but I couldn’t help but laugh when reading this entry, because the mall in front of the scrappers field is about 15 minutes from my house.
